Attorneys Julia Pitney and Tim Steigelman Win $12M Attachment

Drummond Woodsum attorneys Julia Pitney and Tim Steigelman won an attachment order for $12,667,320 on behalf of their client, Passamaquoddy Wild Blueberry Company (a federally chartered Indian tribal corporation), in a breach of contract case. In the attachment order the Maine Business and Consumer Court ruled that Drummond Woodsum’s client was more likely than not to ultimately recover judgment in an amount equal to or greater than $12.6 million, and allowed Drummond Woodsum’s client to seek attachment of the Defendants’ assets and trustee process of their accounts pending resolution of the lawsuit.

The case is pending as Passamaquoddy Wild Blueberry Co. v. Cherryfield Foods, Inc. & Oxford Frozen Foods, Ltd., Docket no. BCD-CV-17-18 in the Business and Consumer Court, a specialized docket within the Maine Superior Court.
