Cassidy is a member of the Regulated Substances Group and guides his clients through the complexities of the highly-regulated marijuana industry. Cassidy is an experienced attorney with a demonstrated history of representing clients in the marijuana industry, as well as general real estate and corporate law issues.
Marijuana, CBD, and hemp businesses all face unique federal, state, and local regulations that are difficult to navigate and are ever-changing. In addition to assisting with state and local licensing, regulation and compliance, Cassidy helps his clients with entity formation and business planning, trademarks, lease review, and general service agreements, as well as various leasing, zoning, and other property issues in connection with marijuana-related businesses.
While at the University of Southern Maine, Attorney Neal played on the Men’s Soccer team and received the William B. Wise Scholar Athlete Award in 2006. Prior to law school, Attorney Neal was a corrections officer, attending the NHAC Correctional Academy and receiving the Honor Graduate award for his class. Following his years as a corrections officer, Cassidy began working with at-risk youth in the greater Portland area.
During his time in law school, Cassidy’s switched his focus from criminal justice to sports and entertainment law – earning a Sports and Entertainment Law Certificate and an Intellectual Property Law Certificate from the Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property, a top-10 intellectual property law program in the country. While at UNH Law, Cassidy gained practical experience with trademark registration and litigation, as well as assisting in contract negotiations, endorsement deals, and the drafting of new players for a Major League Baseball Player-Agent.
In his free time, Cassidy enjoys testing each sand trap that Maine’s wonderful golf courses have to offer. He is also an active member of the Screen Actors Guild and occasionally can be seen in feature films and television shows.
