Joanna Brown Tourangeau is Drummond Woodsum’s Practice Group Leader for Environmental and Natural Resources Law. Since 2001, Joanna has worked with clients to address local, state and federal environmental and land use issues.
She brings substantial experience advising clients on local, state and federal environmental and land use permitting, compliance and enforcement issues and in assessing the environmental status of property.
Joanna represents major industrial clients in all manner of environmental and land use issues from construction of new or expanded facilities (such as recent permitting for a new biofuel refinery in Maine and a gas pipeline in New Hampshire) to air, water, solid and hazardous waste licensure and compliance concerns.
Joanna has trained and audited numerous facilities in Maine and New Hampshire for compliance with environmental and OSHA requirements including those applicable to air, water, solid waste, hazardous and universal wastes, hazardous materials, safety and health, emergency planning and community right to know. Her compliance work in these areas includes negotiation of penalties associated with regulatory notices of violation and administrative complaints.
She is listed in the New England Super Lawyers directory as a “Rising Star” in the category of Environmental Law.
