INTRODUCING DRUMMOND WOODSUM’S NEWEST SHAREHOLDERS AND SENIOR CONSULTANT

Drummond Woodsum is pleased to announce that it has promoted seven of its associate attorneys to shareholders of the firm and elevated one consultant to the role of Senior Consultant.  Congratulations to attorneys Adam Cote, Michael-Corey Hinton, Jeana McCormick, Kasia Park, Aga Dixon, Matthew Decker, and Meghan Glynn, as well as Government Relations, Organizational Development and Campaigns consultant, Toby McGrath.  

Each year, the firm’s shareholders review the associate attorneys and invite those who have distinguished themselves through their legal accomplishments, community involvement, collegiality, and teamwork to be promoted to shareholder status.  “We are delighted to welcome this group of talented individuals to the ranks of our Shareholders and Senior Consultants. They are all outstanding professionals and strong leaders in their respective practices,” commented Benjamin Marcus, Managing Director.     

Adam Cote leads the firm’s Energy and Utilities Practice group and is also a member of Drummond Woodsum Strategic Consulting.  Adam is an expert in the public policy, law and regulatory environment  relating to public utilities and alternative energy generators, especially hydro and solar powered electricity generation.  

Michael-Corey Hinton has represented Native American Tribal governments and their enterprises for nearly a decade, with a significant focus of his work relating to natural resource-based economic development. In his practice, he advises clients on the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act; economic development; environmental regulatory issues, the protection of treaty fishing rights; governmental operations including ethics, employment policies and best practices and the negotiation and administration of Public Law 93-638 programs.  

Jeana McCormick is a member of the firm’s Trial Services Group, representing clients in a wide range of civil litigation matters involving school law, employment law, civil rights, municipal liability, and general commercial litigation. Jeana is a frequent speaker at conferences and trainings for clients on school law and employment law.     

Kasia Park is a member of the firm’s Trial Services Group, concentrating her practice on civil rights and commercial litigation. Kasia specializes in defending police officers against claims brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, including claims of false arrest and excessive force.  Her practice includes the defense of claims brought under the Maine Tort Claims Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Title IX, and other state and federal laws. Kasia’s practice also includes providing counseling and litigation services to public and private colleges and universities on issues and complaints arising under federal laws, including Title IX of the Civil Rights Act. 

Meghan Glynn is a member of the School and Education Law Group, where she assists New Hampshire School Districts to navigate general school law, school employment and labor law, and school board governance. Meghan advises school boards and superintendents on issues surrounding collective bargaining and employee discipline, Title IX and sex discrimination, student bullying and harassment, student discipline and due process, and district compliance with New Hampshire’s Right to Know law. Meghan also provides trainings on bullying, Title IX, and effective employee investigations.

Matthew Decker is a member of the firm’s Municipal Law Group.  Matt provides litigation and counseling services to New Hampshire municipalities on a wide variety of issues, including code enforcement, tax appeals, land use, roads and contracts.

Agnieszka Dixon is a member of the firm’s School Law Group and the Public Finance Group, focusing her practice on school borrowing and budgets, bond issuance, and school reorganization matters.  She has specialized expertise in energy law, particularly solar and renewable energy power purchases enabling her to assist public sector clients with multi-decade, multi-party renewable energy power purchase agreements, net energy billing credits agreements, solar leases, and related transactions.  She also regularly represents landowners, environmental nonprofits, and local governments in land use and conservation matters.  

Toby McGrath is a non-lawyer consultant and serves as the firm’s Government Relations and Campaigns Practice Group Leader and Managing Director of Drummond Woodsum Strategic Consulting. With more than 15 years of experience in the legislative and electoral process, Toby is a recognized leader in his field. He has achieved considerable campaign successes, including candidate races, referendum questions, bond issues, and grassroots campaigns in Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Toby also works on telecommunications, regulatory, environmental, energy, educational, campaign finance, tax, labor, business, and appropriations issues in both the public and private sectors.
