DRUMMOND WOODSUM’S HANNAH KING IS REAPPOINTED TO MAINE’S MARIJUANA ADVISORY COMMISSION

February 16, 2021

Hannah King, co-chair of Drummond Woodsum’s Regulated Substances practice, has been reappointed to the State of Maine Marijuana Advisory Commission for a second term by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ryan Fecteau.  Hannah was appointed as a representative of Maine’s adult use marijuana industry.

“I am honored to be able to continue the work of this advisory commission,” said Hannah. “The cannabis industry is rapidly evolving and this advisory commission is critical to ensuring that Maine continues to be a leader in this space.”

The advisory commission was established by a provision of Public Law 409, An Act to Implement a Regulatory Structure for Adult Use Marijuana.  Its purpose is to conduct a continuing study of laws relating to marijuana and report to the Legislature its findings and recommendations on an annual basis. The commission consists of 15 members including representatives from the Department of Administrative and Financial Services; Health and Human Services; Public Safety, Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry; the Attorney General’s office; 5 members appointed by the President of the Senate; and 5 members appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

As an integral part of Drummond Woodsum’s Regulated Substances practice Hannah brings an unmatched understanding of this dynamic and rapidly changing cannabis industry.  She advises tribes across the country, as well as cannabis and CBD businesses and investors in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont on cannabis and hemp licensing and regulatory issues.
