DRUMMOND WOODSUM HOSTS CONSERVATION LAW FOUNDATION SEMINAR

March 21, 2017

Drummond Woodsum attorney, Tom Trenholm, will host Conservation Law Foundation's Legal Food Hub's first continuing legal education seminar of 2017 on Wednesday, March 29th at the Drummond Woodsum Conference Center in Portland. The seminar will focus on labor and employment issues in Maine's farm and food sectors.

Trenholm is a frequent speaker on labor and employment issues, having presented at Maine's Agricultural Trade Show in January, and at last year's MOFGA "Farmer to Farmer" conference in Northport. A graduate of the University of Maine School of Law, Trenholm grew up on a dairy farm in Winthrop. He will be joined by Bridging the Gap ethics instructor, Cliff Ruprecht, of Roach Hewitt Ruprecht Sanchez & Bischoff and by experienced farmhand and manager, Justin Gray, of Pineland Farms in New Gloucester.

The Conservation Law Foundation's Legal Food Hub is a featured project of the CLF Farm and Food Initiative. CLF launched a pro bono legal service for qualified Maine farm and food entrepreneurs in 2015. It currently has a network in Maine of more than forty-five volunteer attorneys statewide. Piloted by its sister program in Massachusetts, Maine's program followed, and this year both were joined by a Legal Food Hub in Rhode Island. A study for a fourth program in Connecticut is underway at Yale University's School of Law. For more information on the Hub, visit legalfoodhub.org.

For detailed registration information on the Maine Legal Food Hub CLE on March 29th, inquire to rprice@clf.org or call Phelps Turner at 210-6439 ext. 5014. The session is open to attorneys registered to practice in Maine for a $25.00 registration for 2.5 CLE credits, including one ethics hour.
