ADAM COTE REPRESENTS KENNEBUNK LIGHT AND POWER DISTRICT IN A DEAL FOR ONE OF THE STATE'S LARGEST SOLAR ARRAYS
June 6, 2017
Drummond Woodsum attorney Adam Cote represented Kennebunk Light and Power District in a recent negotiation resulting in a 20-year deal that's designed to support construction of one of the state's largest solar arrays in operation. Cote leads Drummond Woodsum's Energy and Public Utilities Practice group.
The power purchase agreement calls for DG Maine Solar LLC to design, permit, construct, operate and own the 2.9-megawatt solar array, which will be constructed adjacent to the district's West Kennebunk substation. Commercial operation of the array could begin as soon as the fall of 2018 and the agreement allows the District to expand the system so long as the power generated does not exceed system consumption for the West Kennebunk substation.
According to the District, additional arrays serving the Water Street substation have not been ruled out, and talks will be ongoing to determine if and when additional solar generating capacity will be developed within the District. Cote will continue to represent the District throughout the development and construction of the site.
